Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Apprentice Optician to join our team at LensCrafters. As an Apprentice Optician, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring that our customers receive the best possible optical experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Convey a commitment to providing unsurpassed customer service by performing the key steps of our selling model, including greeting the customer, explaining the process, merchandise selection, fitting, and dispensing.
  • Serve as a center of excellence for others, focusing on Right the First Time and modeling our CEE service and selling model.
  • Assist customers in selecting frames and lenses that meet their vision, lifestyle, and budgetary needs, suggesting improvements and recommending solutions to problems.
  • Anticipate problems before they occur, explore underlying reasons, and develop long-term solutions.
  • Show patience and courtesy with customers, track down answers to unfamiliar questions or products, and educate customers on LensCrafters' guarantees and services.
  • Handle tasks such as taking and recording measurements, adjusting or fitting eyewear carefully and correctly, and ensuring finished eyewear meets LensCrafters' optical standards and customer requirements.
  • Strive to achieve 'Exceptional Results' on LensCrafters' annual CEI/Functional Skills that align with brand priorities.
  • Take personal ownership to achieve personal and store results, serving as a role model for development and a technical resource for all.
  • Operate the Point of Sale terminal, inputting customer and prescription information with accuracy and attention to detail, and accurately operate the Point of Sale, collecting proper payment following company security procedures.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Part of a sanctioned Apprentice Program.
  • Strong customer service skills, including communication, listening, and teamwork.
  • Knowledge of current optical theory and merchandise.
  • Knowledge of current store merchandise.
  • Strong basic math skills.
  • Awareness of current fashion trends.
  • Sales and service skills.
  • Familiarity with POS, computers, and calculators.
  • Embrace new technology and change.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Actively studying for LensCrafters Quality, Fitting and Adjusting Program.
  • Optical dispensing experience.
  • Previous customer service and retail experience.

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package.
