Key Responsibilities:- Assist with Patient Care: Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Conduct Patient Rounds: Conduct regular patient rounds to ensure patients' needs are met, including toileting, positioning, comfort, safety, and personal needs.
- Prepare Patients for Meals: Prepare patients for meals, including clearing overbed tables, positioning patients correctly for eating, and assisting with feeding.
- Perform Basic Treatments: Perform and/or assist patients with simple treatments, such as removing and reapplying SCD wraps, assisting with enema procedures, and collecting specimens.
- Monitor Patient Condition: Inform the Registered Nurse of any changes in the patient's condition, including audible clinical alarms.
- Assist with Patient Movement: Assist with moving, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients.
- Maintain a Safe Environment: Maintain a safe and uncluttered environment of care in patient rooms, including removing excessive furniture, supplies, and equipment.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of Certified Nursing Attendant program or minimum 6 months relevant experience.
- Certifications: BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification (issued by the American Heart Association-AHA) required upon entry to the position.
- Skills: Strong customer service and communication skills, with working knowledge of English evident in verbal, reading, and writing abilities.
