Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Dietitian to join our team at the Richard L. Roudebush VAMC in Indianapolis, IN. As a Clinical Dietitian, you will play a critical role in providing nutrition care to our patients and contributing to the development of nutrition-related policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and develop individualized plans for Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) in accordance with patient medical program goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate nutritional care and ensure seamless transitions of care.
  • Develop and implement nutrition education programs for patients and staff, and provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure successful implementation.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of nutrition-related policies and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with current research and best practices in nutrition and apply this knowledge to improve patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or Registered Dietitian (RD) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • At least 1 year of experience as a registered dietitian, with a strong background in clinical nutrition and experience working with patients with complex medical conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
