Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at IASIS Healthcare. As a Patient Service Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of our medical practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Answering Calls and Routing Messages: Respond to incoming calls, route messages to the appropriate staff member, and ensure that all messages are followed up on in a timely manner.
  • Providing Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, responding to their inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Scheduling Appointments: Schedule patient appointments and testing as requested, ensuring that all necessary information is collected and documented.
  • Registering Patients: Register new patients in our electronic medical record (EMR) system, verifying demographic and insurance information.
  • Collecting Co-Pays: Collect required insurance co-pays from patients, including any prior balances.
  • Performing Pre-Visit Planning: Perform daily pre-visit planning for all upcoming scheduled appointments, including running insurance eligibility checks.
  • Obtaining Prior Authorizations: Obtain prior authorizations and/or insurance referrals as needed.
  • Performing Outreach: Perform outreach to select patient groups as directed for patient care and quality measurement/guidelines.
  • Performing Administrative Tasks: Perform various administrative tasks, including ordering supplies and following up with providers on missing slips.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required.
  • 1-3 Years of Experience: Preferred.
  • Strong Customer Service Skills: Essential.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Required.
  • Experience with EMR Systems: Strongly preferred.
  • Microsoft Office Skills: Preferred.
