MedStar Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. This role involves performing ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols, utilizing various scanner models and adhering to policies on Universal Precautions, safety, and waste disposal.

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge in transverse and cross-sectional anatomical and pathological presentations, as well as the technical operations associated with this modality. They will perform ultrasound examinations in department or at bedside, including chest, abdomen, pelvis, small parts, carotids, neonatal heads, OB/GYN, trans-vaginal, and prostate exams, using prescribed protocols and identified scanners.

Responsibilities include reporting initial impressions to radiologists, reviewing images before releasing patients, ensuring timely completion of all exams through tracking and scanning workflow, and providing basic information to patients concerning procedures. Additionally, they will coordinate patient flow on assigned units, minimize waiting times, and collaborate with Patient Financial Associates to register radiology exams efficiently.

This position requires a trained Ultrasound Technologist with experience in operating various models of ultrasound equipment and instructing others in proper use. The successful candidate must demonstrate competency in didactic coursework and clinical procedures, hold ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography) or ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) certification, and possess Basic Life Support (BLS) training.
