About This Role

We're seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Racetrack Maintenance Specialist to join our team at PENN Entertainment. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and integrity of our racetrack surface.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the maintenance and care of the track surface for racing and training purposes, ensuring optimal safety and performance.
  • Maintain the safety lane for racing and training purposes, adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Preserve the paddock hills from ruts and washouts, ensuring a smooth and even surface.
  • Remove snow in a timely manner, ensuring the track is clear and safe for racing and training.
  • Operate various vehicles, including trucks, graders, tractors, water trucks, skid steers, and front-end loaders, with precision and care.
  • Ensure the horse ambulance is ready and functioning for daily racing, prioritizing the safety and well-being of our equine athletes.
  • Perform other related and compatible duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to excellence.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one (1) year of facilities maintenance experience in racing or a similar work environment.
  • Valid Driver's License and strong written and verbal communication skills, with fluency and literacy in English.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and/or finishing trades.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism, as well as work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Ability to safely operate all equipment, including automobiles, tractors, skid steers, and front-end loaders.
