Shipyard Manager

A leading shipyard is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shipyard Manager to lead their team in Norfolk, VA. As a key member of the management team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading the shipyard to success by aligning daily operations with company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead 8-10 trades areas, providing direction, guidance, and mentorship to all levels of foremen on site.
  • Champion a positive safety culture and EHS initiatives to promote a safe, clean, and healthy workplace.
  • Monitor all aspects of quality and production to ensure all projects are completed on time and up to par with customer expectations.
  • Clearly communicate goals and KPIs to the team to improve workflow across the company.
  • Manage employees through all phases of employment, including hiring, firing, retention, disciplinary action, etc.
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience leading a team with multiple trades onsite.
  • Ability to understand job specifications, drawings, and corresponding technical references.
  • Proficiency working with hot work trades, including welding, grinding, and melting.
  • 4-year degree or Register Apprentice graduate preferred.
  • Experience working with commercial and government projects a plus.
