About the Role
We are looking for a committed and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to become part of our dedicated team in the Advanced Inpatient Pediatrics (AIP) unit. This full-time, permanent position is designed for those who are passionate about delivering outstanding care to pediatric patients facing behavioral health challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to pediatric patients with behavioral health concerns, including thorough assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to create and execute personalized care plans for each patient.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments while monitoring patients for any side effects or adverse reactions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all patient interactions and care in compliance with established protocols.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding medical conditions, treatment procedures, and effective management strategies, including medication and pain management.
- Respond to emergency situations and offer crisis intervention as necessary.
- Engage in continuous education and professional development to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.
- Possession of a current and valid Registered Nurse license.
- A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year in pediatric behavioral health.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is preferred.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities, capable of making informed decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other healthcare technologies.
