Service Mechanic Overview
The Service Mechanic role at CareGuide is designed for individuals with a strong mechanical background who are dedicated to providing exceptional service.

This position involves the repair, maintenance, and servicing of rental equipment both in the workshop and at various job sites. Key responsibilities include diagnosing and fixing diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a range of skilled tasks such as inspection, diagnosis, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of general rental and specialized equipment.
  • Ensure all equipment is serviced appropriately to maintain optimal performance at job sites.
  • Utilize machinery including booms, forklifts, compressors, generators, and various hydraulic and electrical tools.
  • Complete necessary documentation, including timesheets, checklists, and repair logs promptly.
  • Engage in preventative maintenance activities as required.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by organizing the service vehicle and work area.
  • Adhere to company, regulatory, and equipment-related safety standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Strong mechanical skills and aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and manuals.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and repairing various mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Skilled in the safe use of hand and power tools, along with diagnostic equipment.
  • Capable of completing service-related documentation accurately.
  • Ability to operate a 2-way radio when necessary.
  • Physical capability to lift, push, pull, and move items weighing up to 70 pounds.
  • Dependable and punctual with effective communication skills.
  • High level of safety awareness and good written and verbal communication abilities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Valid driver's license and compliance with driving policy standards.
  • Vocational training or technical certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy equipment or diesel mechanics is essential.
  • Experience with industrial lift and aerial equipment repairs is advantageous.
  • Must provide personal tools and demonstrate the ability to use them safely and effectively.
  • Basic computer operation skills are necessary.
