Job Summary

The Retail Sales Associate is a key member of our sales team, responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences and driving sales growth through proactive consultative sales assistance and support. As a Retail Sales Associate, you will be the face of American Freight, providing personalized service to customers, achieving department standards and goals, and maintaining a clean, in-stock, and well-merchandised sales floor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Identify customer needs and provide appropriate solutions using approved selling practices and guidelines.
  • Sales Performance: Meet or exceed associate performance standards consistently, including sales, returns, and exchanges.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain current knowledge of merchandise lines, product features, benefits, and availability, and provide solutions to customers when products are not available in the store.
  • Transaction Processing: Process customer transactions in the Point of Sale system, including sales, returns, and exchanges in accordance with authorized procedures.
  • Training and Development: Complete required training in the expected timeframe and participate in ongoing learning opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Team Collaboration: Partner with other selling and sales support associates and cashiers to provide superior customer service, including locating merchandise, assisting customers, answering phones, and ringing the register.
Requirements

As a Retail Sales Associate, you will be expected to:

  • Work day, evening, and weekend shifts, including flexible scheduling for Part-Time openings.
  • Meet or exceed sales performance standards, including sales, returns, and exchanges.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, including identifying customer needs and providing solutions using approved selling practices and guidelines.
  • Maintain current knowledge of merchandise lines, product features, benefits, and availability.
  • Process customer transactions in the Point of Sale system, including sales, returns, and exchanges in accordance with authorized procedures.
