Compensation:

Lecturer A/2 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $4,530 – $6,056 per month
Lecturer B/3 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $5,405 – $11,994 per month
Lecturer C/4 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,190 – $13,172 per month
Lecturer D/5 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $7,794 – $13,797 per month

The anticipated hiring range is typically at or near the minimum of the respective salary range, aligned with the candidate's qualifications and experience. Most new hires are appointed at the Lecturer A or B level.

Position Overview: The Psychology Department is actively seeking applications for a pool of lecturers to fulfill teaching needs throughout the academic year. Appointments from this pool are temporary and may occur just before the commencement of the academic term.

Essential Qualifications: A Master's Degree in a relevant field is the minimum educational requirement for a lecturer appointment.

  • Previous instructional experience
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching
  • Preference will be given to bilingual candidates

Key Responsibilities: Lecturers will be tasked with teaching one or more course sections as determined by the Department Chair based on qualifications and departmental needs.

Departmental Insights: The Psychology Department comprises a collaborative team of 24 tenured/tenure-track faculty, 24 lecturers, and three administrative staff. The department fosters cooperation among faculty and across the campus. It serves approximately 1200 undergraduate majors, 150 minors, and 100 graduate students, offering a BA in Psychology as well as MA and MS programs aimed at preparing students for various professional paths.
