Baptist Health seeks a skilled Clinical Assistant to support our medical team. As a Clinical Assistant, you will play a vital role in coordinating direct patient care activities and providing clinical support to our providers.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Check in patients and obtain vital signs, including height, weight, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, and temperature
- Medication reconciliation, patient medical history information, and expediting patient flow
- Rooming patients, stocking clinic supplies, and navigating electronic health record systems (EPIC)
- Scheduling and following up with appointments, assisting with medication fill and refill requests, and checking for prior authorizations and scheduling tests, procedures, and consultations
- Performing procedures such as EKG, phlebotomy, lab tests, and injections (once competency has been assessed)
The ideal candidate will possess a High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency, basic computer skills, and the ability to navigate databases containing confidential information. Additionally, they will have prior working experience in a medical office/clinic, be certified as a Medical Assistant, or have completed an MA education program. Upon hire, the candidate will undergo training and assessment for clinical competency.
