Job Title: Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary:

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for conducting psychiatric assessments and diagnostic procedures for patients, adhering to established standards of practice. This role requires evaluating and documenting identified medical problems and reporting them in a timely manner to the supervising physician.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including nurse's notes and medication records, physician order forms, and assessments.
  • Prescribe psychotropic medication in accordance with established prescriptive practice guidelines.
  • Adhere to Universal Precautions for Infection Control and proper procedures for disposal of sharps.
  • Participate in treatment planning sessions, clinical case reviews, and in-service training programs.
  • Adhere to the professional staff code of ethics.
  • Participate in clinical supervision sessions with a supervising psychiatrist in accordance with the Practice and Prescriptive Guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Board-approved master's or post-master's nurse practitioner program or other Board-approved program.
  • Experience conducting evaluations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments specific to the NP's area of expertise.
  • Knowledge and understanding of behavioral health and the capability to provide treatment consistent with standards of professional care.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively relate to behavioral health patients.
  • Computer literacy and ability to work in an electronic medical record.
