Position Overview

Core Responsibilities


As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients upon admission, utilizing observation, communication, and examination skills.
  • Develop individualized care plans that identify patient needs, nursing diagnoses, and appropriate interventions.
  • Facilitate patient education and plan for discharge and post-discharge needs tailored to the patient population.
  • Independently manage treatments, procedures, and equipment, adhering to established policies and demonstrating competency.
  • Safely handle, transport, store, prepare, and administer medications in accordance with hospital protocols.
  • Document patient information accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring effective communication with the healthcare team.
  • Reassess patient conditions and modify care plans based on patient responses.
  • Assume charge responsibilities and delegate tasks while considering patient acuity and care requirements.
  • Promote a healing environment for patients and their families.

Qualifications


To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A nursing diploma or degree from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure in the State of Tennessee.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within six months of hire.
  • Experience in a Special Care Nursery or NICU setting is preferred.
  • The ability to function effectively in high-pressure situations.
  • Flexibility to return to work within one hour when on call.

Work Environment


This position is based in a Nursery/NICU unit, catering to a patient demographic of infants less than one year old. The role requires the ability to communicate effectively in English, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 250 lbs with assistance.
