Speech Language Pathologist II

The Speech-Language Pathologist II will be responsible for evaluating the speech and language of children and providing remediation for those with communication disorders. This role requires a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology and a minimum of 4 years of experience in pediatric acute/inpatient settings. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated flexibility in the evaluation process, knowledge of counseling techniques, and empathy and caring. They must also be licensed in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia, and hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and state licensure.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate patients using standard and special procedures
Use appropriate protocol for age and disorder, complete protocol in a timely fashion
Show skills for a variety of disorders and test instruments
Use knowledge of cultural linguistic features appropriately in the diagnostic process
Adapt procedures for specialized disorders (e.g., stuttering, alternative/augmentative communication, bilingual, etc.)
Requirements
Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Minimum 4 years of experience in pediatric acute/inpatient settings
Licensed in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and state licensure
