RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Scope:

A Production Engineer is responsible for executing standard production engineering tasks, including evaluating production history under natural and artificial lift conditions constrained to surface network operations, to deliver Production Optimization solutions for clients. As a key technical contributor, the Production Engineer aids in identifying potential challenges or favorable conditions to enhance economic recovery from a well. Strong interpersonal skills, along with effective communication and presentation abilities, are essential for success in this role. The engineer should perform assigned tasks with minimal oversight and under the guidance of the designated Technical Lead. They should be capable of understanding and articulating the inputs such as data & assumptions, workflow, results & recommendations to clients, along with the implications of these on operations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct production analysis and optimize production under surface and reservoir constraints with minimal supervision.
  • Execute material balance calculations, pressure transient analysis, and production assessments.
  • Develop Inflow Performance Relationships (IPR) based on well productivity, determining operating points based on tubing performance curves.
  • Generate model inputs essential for reservoir simulation, including VLP curves and pressure constraints.
  • Perform nodal analysis, tubing lift calculations, and evaluations independently.
  • Design, analyze, and optimize artificial lift systems, including gas lift, ESP, rod lift, and jet pumps.
  • Identify production challenges stemming from near wellbore issues such as skin or permeability degradation, sand production, and wellbore complications like liquid loading, hydrates, paraffin, and asphaltenes, recommending solutions to ensure optimal flow.
  • Construct black oil, extended black oil, compositional, EOR, and thermal models for well and surface networks.
  • Conduct routine QA/QC on all production and completion data relevant to building production models.
  • Assess the impact of surface production facilities on short-term, mid-term, and long-term field performance by:
  • Developing surface network models that incorporate wells, pipelines, pumps, separators, and delivery nodes.
  • Defining forecast scenarios that consider reservoir deliverability constraints, flow capacity, processing capacity, and economic limitations.
  • Execute surface network optimization under production constraints, delivery requirements, lift gas availability, injection water availability, or produced liquid handling.
  • Identify bottlenecks and flow issues affecting performance.
  • Conduct reliability and failure analysis of well and surface networks under supervision to establish root cause analysis of failures and suggest mitigation strategies for future operations.
  • Understand Field Services Management protocols to create, modify, monitor, and close activities. Generate and perform QA/QC on post-job reports.
  • Conduct material balance (MB), pressure transient analysis (PTA), and rate transient analysis (RTA) studies under supervision.
