Job Summary

The Echo Technician II plays a vital role in the Torrance Memorial Medical Center's cardiovascular department, performing high-quality ultrasound examinations of the heart and related vessels. This position requires a strong foundation in echocardiography and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform 2D and M-Mode echo cardiology and color-flow Doppler studies, stress echo, and transesophageal echo procedures on adults, children, and neonates.
  • Interpret and analyze echocardiogram results to provide accurate diagnoses and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Develop and maintain proficiency in advanced structural heart procedures and imaging acquisition techniques.
  • Adhere to infection control guidelines and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Prepare and transport patients for exams, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Participate in department meetings, inservice education, and policy/procedure review to stay up-to-date on best practices.
Requirements
  • Echocardiography graduate with RDCS or RCS certification or eligibility.
  • 2+ years of experience as an Echo Tech in a hospital setting.
  • BCLS or ACLS certification.
