About the Job:

This is a lab environment position, and the selected candidate is required to work on the bench from our HQ in Houston.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, modify, evaluate electronic components, circuits, firmware, software for electronic equipment.
  • Assess equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results.
  • Select components and equipment based on analysis specifications and reliability.
  • Apply advanced subject matter knowledge to complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert.
  • Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods.
  • Work on complex problems/projects where assessment of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.
  • Exercise significant judgement within broadly defined policies and practices to arrive at best method of accomplishing tasks and achieving targets.
  • Oversee and/or provide expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives.
  • May provide mentoring and guidance to peers and juniors.
  • Act as subject matter expert in providing direction and guidance to process improvements and policy matters.
  • Frequently represent the organization to external customers/clients.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 10 or more years experience.
  • Using electrical design tools and software packages: Cadence Allegro Viewer, VR test tool, SIMPLIS simulation preferred.
  • DC-DC converter technology design and development experience.
  • Excellent assessment and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in overall architecture of electronic hardware for products and solutions.
  • Designing and integrating electronic components, integrated circuitry, and algorithms into overall architecture.
  • Evaluating and proposing forms of empirical assessment, modeling, and testing methodologies to validate component, circuit, and hardware designs and thermal/emissions management.
  • Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals, and negotiate options at senior management levels.
