About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Improvement Specialist to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our Patient Safety and Quality department, you will play a critical role in driving quality and safety initiatives across our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead quality and safety improvement initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement data-driven strategies to drive quality and safety outcomes, utilizing tools such as the Quality Scorecard.
  • Provide expert knowledge and leadership in patient safety and quality initiatives, leveraging safety and high-reliability science principles.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to develop and coordinate patient safety programs, providing coaching and hands-on support as needed.
  • Develop and maintain timely and thorough progress reports, including key driver diagrams, run charts, and PDSA testing documentation.
  • Develop and track key quality and safety metrics, providing actionable feedback and reports to stakeholders.
  • Investigate and analyze event reports related to assigned clinical areas, ensuring appropriate referral and follow-up as needed.
  • Participate in and facilitate safety huddles, patient safety activities, and just culture reinforcement, advancing the safety culture within our organization.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare or health science.
  • 5 years of experience in healthcare, with a focus on quality and safety improvement.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and software, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present to various levels within the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree and/or professional degree and certification.
  • Performance improvement experience, with a focus on quality and safety.
  • Experience in statistics or clinical research.
  • Understanding of The Joint Commission and regulatory standards.
