--What languages are required?
We are seeking translators and interpreters proficient in a wide range of languages to support Department of Justice (DOJ) projects. While specific language needs can vary, there is often a high demand for linguists fluent in Hmong, Czech and Slovak, Tagalog, Bulgarian, and Yiddish. Salary
The pay rates for our freelance translators and interpreters vary depending on the task and your level of experience. For some translation tasks, compensation is per word, while others are paid hourly. Based on industry standards, we estimate that freelance translators can earn between $40 and $80 per hour, while interpreters may receive $100 to $200 per hour for half-day assignments. Half and full-day rate ranges for interpreters may also be discussed during the inquiry process.
