Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled BioReagent Technologist I to join our team at Werfen. As a key member of our biotechnology laboratory, you will be responsible for the isolation and purification of proteins from recombinant and natural sources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate various types of chromatography processes, including ion exchange, affinity, hydrophobic interaction, and gel filtration, in conformance with established procedures.
  • Create and submit complete, accurate, and timely device history paperwork.
  • Pack and clean chromatography columns.
  • Perform in-process QC tasks as detailed in SOPs and QCMs.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure a clean and orderly lab environment consistent with ISO and GMP standards.
  • Review and understand all team and applicable plant operating and safety procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisor and other plant personnel.
  • Maintain and clear appropriate vessels for the support of the purification process.
  • Understand and follow production documents (SPMs and QCMs) in the purification of proteins.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a science field or related technical discipline.
  • Intermediate computer literacy (Excel, Word, etc.).

Physical Requirements:

  • This position requires the ability to lift and move materials per current OSHA standards.
