Position Overview:


The Family Support Solutions (FSS) Program is a short-term, in-home, strength-based counseling initiative aimed at preserving families and supporting children referred by social services.

Families often face numerous challenges and require ongoing, consistent support to enhance their overall functioning.

The FSS Program offers a comprehensive range of moderately intensive, solution-oriented services delivered within the family home. Services are provided for a duration of up to 90 days, with the possibility of extending for an additional 90 days. This role involves assisting in the creation of service plans and coordinating efforts with the referring social service worker.

Compensation:
$20.06 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
Provide in-home, strength-based training and educational services to children and their parents.

Collaborate with referral sources to develop tailored service plans for families.

Create emergency and safety plans for families facing crises or risks to children.

Complete necessary documentation and follow-up actions.

Engage in sessions, reviews, and team meetings.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Exhibit a non-judgmental, positive attitude towards families in challenging situations.

Effective communication skills.

Ability to collaborate with team members and other service providers.

Experience working with diverse populations.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Knowledge of brief, solution-focused therapy and strength-based intervention strategies.

Familiarity with local resources available to families.

Recommended Qualifications:

Education:
A Bachelor's Degree in human services or a related field is required. A Master's Degree in social work is preferred.

Experience:


A minimum of one year of practical experience working with children and families facing multiple challenges, demonstrating the ability to engage effectively with families.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
No specific certifications required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not entail supervisory duties.
