Job Description

Job Summary:

This role supports the Director of Learning Resources in all aspects of library services, resources, and programs benefiting all MCC locations and the Colorado Community College system as well as other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer reference and research aid to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Design instructional materials and resources to enhance and educate on information literacy and research skills.
  • Organize subject guides, digital learning objects, and other resources to support academic programs.
  • Manage library collections, including cataloging and circulation tasks.
  • Participate in strategic planning and policy recommendations to advance the library's mission.
  • Champion the library's presence on campus and in the community.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution.
  • Experience providing reference aid and knowledge of information literacy best practices.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Superior customer service, organizational, problem-solving skills, and the capability to multitask and prioritize with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn new software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Springshare software (Libguides, Libchat, and other Libapps).
  • Experience in providing information literacy instruction.
  • Knowledge of cataloging according to national standards.
  • Background in academic library or higher education environments.
  • Understanding of Fair Use Laws and Copyright regulations.
  • Familiarity with Open Educational Resources.
