Visual Merchandising Lead for Signature Store

The Visual Merchandising Lead plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of The Paper Store brand through the effective execution of merchandising strategies. This position is accountable for all elements of store presentation, including the arrangement of fixtures, product displays, and promotional materials. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential, as this role serves as the primary liaison for internal stakeholders. The Lead exercises independent judgment and discretion in crafting strategies to uphold visual merchandising standards within a signature location. This individual is responsible for the direction of product presentation, identifying needs, formulating plans, and ensuring successful implementation. The Visual Merchandising Lead will enhance overall store sales by creating an inspiring shopping atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Brand Ambassador for The Paper Store.
  • Enhance brand loyalty by ensuring exceptional customer experiences through well-merchandised and visually appealing environments.
  • Provide constructive feedback and solutions regarding store presentations to management and field partners.
  • Foster strong relationships with key business partners, senior leadership, store management, and team members.
  • Influence visual decisions in-store positively and effectively.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of all visual presentation directives.
  • Address store-specific merchandising challenges, adapting strategies based on store layout, inventory, and market trends.
  • Lead department managers and specialists in visual presentation, ensuring cohesive store aesthetics.
  • Educate new signature store teams on brand aesthetics and company objectives.
  • Maintain daily communication with the store planning team regarding project statuses.
  • Create merchandise displays aligned with The Paper Store visual guidelines to drive sales.
  • Assist in developing training tools for visual presentation across signature stores.
  • Innovate and seek creative solutions to merchandising challenges.
  • Implement company visual merchandising planograms within designated timelines.
  • After thorough training, perform ear piercings in compliance with health guidelines (in select locations).
  • Support the planning and execution of key initiatives and rollouts.
  • Complete all directives and updates within specified timeframes.
  • Ensure marketing and promotional signage is current and correctly positioned.
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection of visual merchandising associates.
  • Demonstrate the ability to think creatively to influence visual decisions.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience in specialty retail visual merchandising is required.
  • Bachelor's degree required (preferably in visual merchandising).
  • 4+ years of experience in retail visual merchandising.
  • Strong merchandising skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Ability to motivate and influence others.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Capability to train and develop team members.
  • Knowledge of market trends and competition.
  • Demonstrated customer service excellence on the sales floor.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.
