As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining electron microscopes at customer sites, providing technical support and troubleshooting services, and ensuring that all equipment is functioning properly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install new or modified electron microscopes at customer sites to ensure full functionality according to specifications
  • Independently diagnose and repair electron microscopes within the territory
  • Inspect malfunctioning instruments to determine the nature and scope of the problem
  • Communicate with clients, vendors, supervisors, and other stakeholders to accomplish work
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in resolving problems
  • Provide on-site technical assistance to troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Complete and submit field service reports and weekly expense reports

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in engineering and/or science
  • 6+ months of electronics or related experience and/or training
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Hands-on technical experience with installation and repair of equipment
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply analog, digital, and RF electronics
  • A basic understanding of troubleshooting techniques and approaches
  • A valid driver's license and passport are required
  • Up to 30% overnight travel is anticipated
