Key Responsibilities
- Schedule drivers for domestic shipment pick-ups and deliveries.
- Ensure adherence to DOT regulations and established internal policies.
- Prioritize time-sensitive shipments.
- Collaborate closely with team members to meet or exceed customer service expectations.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, and company drivers.
- Engage directly with clients on the receipt and processing of transportation requests.
- Utilize various transportation software systems to facilitate material movement, planning, and scheduling.
- Manage dispatch operations with contractors, company drivers, and partner carriers.
- Monitor and trace shipments from pick-up to delivery, ensuring accurate and timely information is provided to clients.
- Resolve issues by identifying problems, applying critical thinking, and implementing effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate data capture and system entries.
- Communicate effectively with customers, contractors, company drivers, partner carriers, and team members.
- Promote the DSV Road Transport brand.
- Assist with the initiation of new accounts.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
- Comply with all domestic and international shipping regulations.
- 2 years of experience in logistics, customer service, or a related field.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proficient in typing and computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong English language skills (reading, writing, and verbal).
- Intermediate mathematical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to adapt and work within a team environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
- Commitment to fulfilling responsibilities.
- CDL A or B license.
- 2 years of prior logistics experience.
- Experience with local pick-up and delivery operations.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and communicate verbally. The employee utilizes computer and telephone equipment. Specific vision requirements include close vision and distance vision.
Work Environment
In this role, the employee is rarely exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate. The physical demands and work environment characteristics described above are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.
