Position Overview:
As a Clinical Laboratory Technician I, you will play a vital role in the healthcare system by conducting essential laboratory tests.

  • Schedule: Monday & Thursday 8:00am - 7:30pm, Tuesday & Wednesday 8:00am - 7:30pm, Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm, Saturday/Sunday 8:00am - 4:30pm

Key Responsibilities:
- Execute routine laboratory analyses under the supervision of experienced laboratory staff, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
- Conduct and document assigned analytical tests, ensuring compliance with quality control standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Participate in moderate complexity testing with appropriate training and oversight.
- Uphold laboratory policies regarding specimen management, test analysis, reporting, and record-keeping of patient results.
- Maintain analytical schedules to ensure timely reporting of results, including critical findings.
- Verify the integrity of reagents and test kits, including checking dates and conditions.
- Perform quality control assessments to guarantee the accuracy of clinical data and proper instrument functionality.
- Communicate any issues related to test procedures to supervisory staff and engage in investigations as necessary.
- Enter and review test results in the Laboratory Information System for physician interpretation.
- Ensure that laboratory environments and equipment are maintained in a safe and sanitary manner.
- Complete required training and competency evaluations as directed.
- Adhere to all relevant regulatory and safety standards, including CLIA, HIPAA, and OSHA guidelines.
- Provide assistance to clients and colleagues as needed, and participate in inspections by regulatory agencies.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required Experience:
- Previous qualification as a Technologist under relevant regulations.

Preferred Experience:
- One to three years of clinical laboratory experience is preferred.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds frequently, with occasional lifting of heavier items.
- Capability to stand and work at a laboratory bench for extended periods.
- Proficiency in using various laboratory instruments and pipettes requiring manual dexterity.

Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of clinical testing principles and departmental policies.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interaction with supervisors, colleagues, and clients.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Laboratory Information Systems.

Education:
- Associate's Degree is required; Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

Certifications:
- ASCP Certification is required.
