About the PositionThe Department of Anesthesiology at the Emory University School of Medicine is seeking board eligible/board certified anesthesiologists to join our Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology team practicing at Emory University Hospital and Emory University Hospital Midtown.
As a member of the faculty, physicians actively engage in the tripartite mission delivering high-quality clinical care, participating in innovative research, and educating medical students, future anesthesiologists, and anesthetists.
Position SpecificsOur Cardiothoracic team enjoys a remarkable national reputation and presence, a supportive academic environment with dedicated nonclinical time, state-of-the-art equipment, and excellent work-life balance.
Case mix includes open and minimally invasive CABGs and valve surgery, heart and lung transplants, open and endovascular aortic repairs, VAD insertions, thoracic surgery, EP procedures, and structural heart interventions.
100% Adult CT is available (no general, no pediatrics, OB, or trauma) with the option for a split with Surgical Specialties, liver transplant, critical care, etc.
CT team takes home call, exclusively for CT cases, with generous pre- and post-call time.
Robust and collaborative care team model provides exceptional resources and peer support.
Candidate QualificationsM.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent.
Eligible to apply for a medical license in the state of Georgia.
American Board of Anesthesiology board certified/eligible.
National Board of Echocardiography Advanced Perioperative TEE board certified/eligible.
Experience with thoracic transplants, aortic surgery, and mechanical support a plus.
Initial academic rank is based on prior experience and a detailed CV review positions available for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor.
