Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chair of Psychiatry to lead our Department of Psychiatry at Mount Sinai South Nassau. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of clinical programs and services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and promoting excellence in patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement clinical programs and services for the Department of Psychiatry
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including OMH, OASAS, The Joint Commission, and the Department of Health
  • Oversee the supervision of all clinical activity within the Department of Psychiatry
  • Monitor the professional competence of the medical staff within the Department of Psychiatry
  • Communicate effectively with Departmental leadership, faculty, and staff to outline roles, responsibilities, and expectations
  • Manage the fiscal viability of the clinical services in the department, including budget, expenses, and revenue
  • Ensure effective management and resolution of department-specific patient complaints, emergency situations, and critical events
  • Manage optimal training experience for trainees in the department
Requirements
  • MD Degree with Board Certification in Child/Adolescent Psychiatry or Psychiatry
  • Medical Degree from an Accredited University
  • New York Medical License
  • Committed to Mount Sinai South Nassau and the communities we serve
  • Excellent communication, bedside manner, and organizational skills
  • A strong work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance-driven Health
