Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough patient therapy assessments to determine the most effective treatment plans.
  • Administer respiratory therapy modalities as ordered by the physician, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of care.
  • Perform Pulmonary Function Tests to diagnose and monitor respiratory conditions.
  • Assist physicians with Bronchoscopy procedures, providing critical support during complex medical interventions.
  • Manage invasive and noninvasive ventilation, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Draw Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs) to monitor patient oxygenation and acid-base balance.
  • Participate in Code Blue and Rapid Response Teams, providing critical care during emergency situations.
  • Provide guidance and education to Respiratory Care Aides and Students, promoting professional development and growth.
  • Offer patient and family education, empowering them to manage respiratory conditions and improve overall health.
  • Clean and maintain respiratory equipment and supplies, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Perform artificial airway maintenance, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Develop and implement Pulmonary Rehabilitation programs as ordered by the physician, promoting patient recovery and wellness.
Requirements
  • Must possess an Illinois License within 90 days of hire.
  • CRT or RRT certification preferred.
  • Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in computer software applications.
  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained throughout employment at CGH Medical Center.
  • ACLS, PALS, or NRP certification required as applicable to areas of responsibility within one year.
