Job Summary

At CGH Medical Center, we are seeking a skilled Echocardiography Specialist to join our team. As an Echocardiography Specialist, you will be responsible for performing echocardiography procedures using accepted principles and practices. You will accurately assess examination quality, appropriateness, and results, and educate patients/family by explaining procedures and answering questions. You will also evaluate images of studies for quality and completeness, and complete record entries into a computerized system. Additionally, you will recognize and respond to emergency situations appropriately, and maintain ultrasound equipment and patient areas.

Responsibilities
  • Perform echocardiography procedures using accepted principles and practices.
  • Accurately assess examination quality, appropriateness, and results.
  • Educate patients/family by explaining procedures and answering questions.
  • Evaluate images of studies for quality and completeness.
  • Complete record entries into a computerized system.
  • Recognize and respond to emergency situations appropriately.
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and patient areas.

Requirements
  • Education from an accredited school in echocardiography required.
  • Successful completion of registry through ARMDS or CCI within 3 months of employment.
  • BLS Required within 30 days of hire.
  • Able to assess and interpret data about the patient's status in order to identify each patient's needs and provide the appropriate care.
