CNC Lathe Operator

POSITION SUMMARY

Cadrex Manufacturing Solutions is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Operator to set up and manage CNC Lathes for the production of intricate machined components. The ideal candidate will possess CNC machining expertise, a proactive mindset, a strong work ethic, and a readiness to learn. PRIMARY DUTIES

• Set up and operate CNC Lathes for the fabrication of complex components.
• Interpret technical drawings and process documentation to ascertain work requirements.
• Validate and modify G Code based CNC programs.
• Conduct inspections of machined components using mechanical inspection tools, CMMs, and gauges to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
• Take responsibility for the quality of work performed, which includes:
  • Utilizing appropriate inspection techniques for your process.
  • Completing quality documentation relevant to your tasks.
  • Maintaining a tidy and organized workspace.
  • Ensuring proper handling, workmanship, and deburring of components.
  • Proposing ideas to reduce waste and enhance production processes.
  • Fostering a collaborative and positive team environment by operating multiple spindles when feasible, sharing knowledge with colleagues, and adhering to attendance requirements to support the company’s objectives.
  • Continuously develop as a machinist by embracing new tools, ideas, and technologies as they emerge.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Proven experience in setting up and operating CNC Lathes.
• A constructive attitude with a strong inclination towards problem-solving is essential.
• Experience in editing and validating CNC programs.
• Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
• Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT) is advantageous.
• Knowledge of live tooling, gantry systems, robotics, bar feeders, and automation accessories is a plus.
• Understanding of machining speeds and feeds.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are mandatory.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma.
• Preferred: 2-year technical certification or equivalent experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• This position requires working in proximity to moving mechanical parts and exposure to vibrations. Occasional exposure to electrical hazards may occur. The noise level in the work environment can range from moderate to loud.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, and communicate effectively. Occasionally may need to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
