Position Summary: We are currently seeking a skilled Investment Performance Analyst to join our team. This pivotal role will serve as the primary authority on fund and portfolio investment performance, collaborating closely with our Portfolio Management team to enhance performance reporting. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our Client Service and Investment teams by providing timely and accurate information regarding investments and associated risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, assess, and report on the performance metrics of various private equity and credit funds.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the firm's intricate investments to effectively communicate performance insights to internal stakeholders and clients.
- Conduct financial and quantitative analyses on the firm's portfolio investments.
- Utilize discounted cash flow valuation models to evaluate investment performance.
- Address portfolio manager inquiries regarding risk exposure and concentration levels.
- Engage in performance analysis and reporting, fund valuation, waterfall calculations, and fee assessments.
- Collaborate with technology teams to develop KPI dashboards that facilitate timely performance analysis.
- Work with technology to enhance the firm's capacity to respond to investor inquiries regarding valuation and performance details.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a fund performance or portfolio valuation analyst within a firm managing complex and illiquid private equity and credit investments.
- In-depth knowledge of the operational dynamics of complex private equity investment funds.
- Strong financial reporting and analytical skills, particularly in performance evaluation, valuation, waterfall calculations for fund distributions, and fee structures.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages, including SQL and Python.
- Experience with business intelligence and data visualization platforms.
- A degree in quantitative fields such as statistics, finance, or a related discipline; coursework in Fund Accounting is preferred.
- Preference for candidates with robust statistical and data analysis capabilities for insightful evaluations.
- Desirable: Familiarity with asset pricing, econometric modeling, time-series analysis, and macroeconomic principles.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly in both written and verbal formats.
