Job Title: Performance and Data Analyst

A private equity investment manager is seeking a skilled Performance and Data Analyst to join their team.

Job Summary:

This role will be responsible for tracking, monitoring, and reporting the performance of a series of private equity and credit funds. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of complex private equity investments and will work closely with the firm's Portfolio Management team to provide timely information about investments and risk.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Track and monitor the performance of private equity and credit funds
  • Understand all aspects of complex private equity investments to discuss and explain performance with internal managers and clients
  • Perform financial and quantitative analysis on portfolio investments
  • Run discounted cashflow valuation models
  • Respond to portfolio manager requests for risk exposure and concentration risk
  • Work on performance analysis and reports, fund valuation, waterfall calculations, and fund fees
  • Develop KPI dashboards to provide timely analysis of fund performance
  • Improve the ability of the firm to respond to investor requests for valuation and performance details
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience working as a fund performance or portfolio valuation analyst with a firm that has complex and illiquid private equity and credit investments
  • Deep understanding of complex private equity investments
  • Strong financial reporting and analysis skills covering performance, valuation, waterfall calculations for fund distribution, and fund fees
  • Data analysis technical skills: SQL, Python
  • Experience using business intelligence and data visualization tools
  • Quantitative, statistics, or finance degree. Fund Accounting academic work is preferred
Nice to Have:
  • Understanding of asset pricing, econometric models, time-series analysis, and macroeconomics

The role requires superior oral and written communication skills and the ability to deliver complex information in written and oral presentation forms.
