Job Summary

We are seeking a Transportation Broker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipping logistics for cargo transportation carriers and shipping companies. This includes performing daily check calls on loads in transit, handling customer-related issues and inquiries, and originating the necessary documentation for freight bills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily check calls on loads in transit to ensure timely delivery
  • Handle customer-related issues and inquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Originate necessary documentation for freight bills
  • Develop and increase profitable volume with existing and newly acquired shippers
  • Build relationships with developing accounts and negotiate rates
  • Gain up-to-date knowledge of market freight rates to determine fair prices
  • Recommend solutions for customers to senior transportation brokers and/or management
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and uphold company standards

Requirements

  • College degree highly desired or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in freight brokerage/customer service
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong customer service orientation and work ethic
  • Ability to quickly process information and make decisions
  • Effective time-management skills with the ability to multitask
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
