Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Executive Liability Marketing Specialist to join our team at Marsh McLennan Agency. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for marketing new and renewal XLP coverages, managing the marketing process, and providing advice and assistance to clients and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Market and place XLP coverages with Business Insurance Department teams
  • Review and analyze submission data, historical claims experience, and other relevant materials to prepare for risk submission
  • Advise clients on recent industry trends, events, and account-specific factors affecting carrier quotes and requirements
  • Submit risks to the marketplace, ensuring carriers have all necessary information and data is accurate and current
  • Provide marketing summaries and support to teams as needed
  • Correspond with carrier representatives to coordinate activity, provide information, and advocate on behalf of clients
  • Analyze market proposals to verify coverages, premium rates, and competitiveness
  • Identify and resolve omissions or shortfalls on viable quotes with underwriters
  • Present quotes to clients and teams
  • Summarize submissions, quotes, and factors affecting quotes
  • Prepare proposal pages, including policy comparisons as needed
  • Provide assistance to teams for midterm negotiations with carriers
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of XLP coverage, developments, and enhancements, as well as differences between various carriers' policies and endorsements
  • Provide direction, mentorship, and training to XLP Marketing Associates
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, clients, and carriers
  • Ensure deliverables meet client and carrier requirements and are completed according to the renewal schedule
Requirements
  • Service-oriented individual with high personal standards and a hands-on work style
  • Strong understanding of XLP coverages, exposure issues, and carriers
  • Successful work history in a professional office setting with direct experience in XLP coverages
  • Excellent understanding of insurance terminology and brokerage agency functions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and standard office equipment
  • Skill in organizing resources, establishing priorities, and maintaining attention to detail
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Advanced insurance designations and a willingness to pursue continuing education and professional development
  • Prioritize tasks, set and achieve goals, think logically, and present results neatly and clearly
  • Possess and maintain a valid unrestricted California Fire and Casualty Brokers License
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard and sit for extended periods
  • Work performed in a typical interior/office work environment
  • Travel to clients in San Diego and Orange Counties, with occasional overnight travel
  • Extended work hours and occasional participation in networking and industry functions
