Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the monthly financial closing process, ensuring accuracy in journal entries and adjustments.
  • Provide support for various financial analyses and reporting as required.
  • Lead special initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance department.
  • Facilitate the integration and transition of newly acquired entities.
  • Interpret and apply new accounting standards as they arise.
  • Conduct and review technical accounting procedures on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Perform annual assessments of goodwill and indefinite life intangible assets.
  • Draft and maintain comprehensive accounting policies and procedures.
  • Guide and support ongoing Controllership improvement projects, including software upgrades and process enhancements.

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in public accounting is preferred.
  • Experience in financial closing, consolidation, reporting, and strategic planning.
  • In-depth knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and compliance with SOX regulations.
  • Familiarity with government contracting and the DCAA framework.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex accounting guidance.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and able to meet deadlines effectively.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounting functions across diverse business units.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Deltek CostPoint.
  • Experience in technical accounting research.
