Job Summary

As a Food Unit Lead with Compass Group Careers, you will be responsible for coordinating the activities of other food-service employees, ensuring a high-quality dining experience for customers, staff, and visitors. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service by being attentive to detail and ensuring that all customers receive a positive experience.
  • Oversee and participate in the preparation and service of food and beverage items, adhering to company standards for presentation, sanitation, safety, and portion control.
  • Help plan menus and ensure timely, efficient meal service, supervising the serving of meals.
  • Respond to customer complaints in a professional manner, both in person and via email.
  • Train employees, assign and coordinate work to promote efficiency and excellence in food and service.
  • Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite work flow.
  • Use proper systems for completing required daily/weekly/monthly reports, including inventory-cash reports, production records, payroll, and time-keeping.
  • Responsible for proper cash handling, as established by the Food Accounting Manual.
  • Order food and other necessary supplies from approved sources or purveyors.
  • Direct and participate in the overall sanitation and safety of the facility and employees, adhering to company standards and government regulations.
  • Develop a sanitation schedule and ensure food-service employees adhere to the schedule for cleaning the kitchen and dining area, as well as washing kitchen utensils and equipment.
  • Issue written and oral instructions, help select and orient employees, and oversee staff training in areas of responsibility.
