Job Overview:
Accountable for the management of physical therapy services for patients. Reports to the Director, Assistant Director, and/or Clinical Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

Conducts patient evaluations and interprets assessment results to identify the nature and extent of physical impairments due to medical conditions, congenital anomalies, or health-related issues, aiming to restore mobility and functional capabilities in daily activities. Performs clinical assessments to evaluate muscle strength, reflexes, sensation, coordination, range of motion, and other sensory-motor skills while conducting clinical analysis and treatment of postural, gait, and activities of daily living (ADL) disorders.Develops a comprehensive plan of care to meet established objectives considering the patient's age, medical history, and specific impairments.Administers or recommends therapeutic modalities and other physical agents.Designs and implements exercise programs and patient care strategies.Exhibits professional expertise and clinical judgment in evaluating the patient's condition throughout all stages of skilled physical therapy.Consistently takes necessary precautions based on the patient's age, medical history, and condition, as well as the type of treatment being administered.Regularly reassesses clinical indicators to evaluate treatment effectiveness, progress towards goals, and the necessity for adjustments in treatment and/or objectives.Executes the treatment plan through direct patient interaction.May delegate specific aspects of the treatment plan to qualified support staff.Coordinates the treatment strategy and engages in discharge planning with other healthcare professionals as needed.May participate in relevant patient care discussions and case management meetings.Provides guidance and education to patients and their families.Concludes physical therapy services when skilled intervention is no longer medically warranted and clinically appropriate.Adheres to Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities, and applicable state, federal, and local regulations.Maintains cleanliness in assigned areas and reports any malfunctioning patient care equipment in accordance with departmental maintenance policies.Ensures accurate and timely documentation of physical therapy services rendered in compliance with State and Federal requirements and relevant medical group policies.Collaborates with Management to fulfill all mandatory compliance obligations.May require training to accommodate a diverse patient population based on local medical center needs.May be involved in the clinical training of Physical Therapy Assistants and Aides.Supervises Physical Therapy Assistants and Aides when tasks related to patient care and non-patient care are assigned to them.Demonstrates exceptional internal and external customer service at all times and acts in accordance with the Principles of Responsibility.Basic Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy training program with a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy.License, Certification, Registration

Physical Therapist License - Applicant (California) required at hire OR Physical Therapist License (California) required at hireBasic Life Support certification required at hireNational Provider Identifier required at hireAdditional Requirements:

Must be capable of working in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.If a CA PT License Applicant (PTLA) or PT Aide Letter recipient: must pass the licensing exam within 120 days from the letter date.Preferred Qualifications:

Member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)

Notes:

Primary location will be WT.May work at other locations based on operational needs.Will work in inpatient/outpatient settings.8-hour shifts.
