Job Summary

The US Oncology Network is seeking a highly skilled Medical Physicist to join our team. As a key member of our radiation oncology department, you will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and delivering radiation treatment plans to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Optimization: Develop and implement radiation treatment plans, ensuring accurate and precise delivery of radiation doses to patients.
  • Technical Evaluation: Evaluate and calibrate radiation treatment equipment, including dosimetric and treatment planning systems.
  • Patient Safety: Ensure the safety of patients and staff during radiation therapy treatments.
  • Clinical, Research, and Educational Duties: Participate in clinical, research, and educational activities, including the development of protocols and procedures.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee and implement quality assurance programs for radiation treatment plans and equipment.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Assume leadership roles in geographic areas of responsibility, collaborating with colleagues to develop new technologies and improve patient care.
Requirements
  • Education: Post-doctoral degree in Physics from an accredited college or university or Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum three to five years of experience in radiation physics, with certification and continuing education requirements outlined by the American College of Radiology.
  • Certifications: Current certification in the field by the American Board of Radiology or Board of Medical Physics, with valid state license for medical physics as required.

The work environment is a fast-paced, dynamic setting with frequent contact with staff and patients. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate complex information to patients and staff, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
