Position Overview:

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Charge Nurse to join our Med Surg 3 team. This unit specializes in General Surgery and operates on a full-time night shift basis. We offer a competitive sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.

Unit Details:

The surgical unit comprises 29 beds, catering to a diverse patient demographic that includes surgical, trauma, and various medical cases. Our surgical procedures range from gastrointestinal surgeries, such as colon and small bowel resections, to vascular surgeries, mastectomies, and thyroidectomies. Patients may present with complex needs, including ostomies, feeding tubes, and drains.

As a level 2 trauma center, we also manage trauma patients who have stabilized enough for admission to a non-ICU/step-down medical-surgical floor.

Key Responsibilities:

- Coordinate the provision of high-quality nursing care for patients across all stages of life.
- Address operational matters during your shift.
- Deliver clinical care as required based on patient census.
- Communicate effectively regarding patient care, departmental concerns, and staff issues to the appropriate leadership.
- Serve as a resource for guidance and support to nursing staff.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Minimum Experience:
- At least one year of nursing experience in a hospital environment is required.

Licensure/Certification:
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Georgia or NLC/eNLC Multistate License is mandatory. BLS certification is also required.

Additional Qualifications:
- Preferred candidates will have two or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting.
- A Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.
- Advanced certification in a relevant specialty is advantageous.
- Demonstrated clinical competency is essential.
