Position Summary:

The main responsibilities include:

  • Assessing and interpreting business requirements, system specifications, and user stories.
  • Formulating test strategies and plans based on project specifications and timelines.
  • Participating in project meetings and daily stand-ups.
  • Executing test scripts while documenting and reviewing outcomes.
  • Identifying, reporting, and managing defects.
  • Providing updates on testing progress and creating dashboards for test execution and defect tracking.
  • Ensuring the timely and successful delivery of products.
  • Collaborating with development teams and business analysts to identify issues early in the planning phase.
  • Creating, maintaining, and executing automated test scripts using various test automation tools and frameworks.
  • Designing and implementing automated test cases for functional, regression, performance, and integration testing.
  • Integrating automated tests into the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Overseeing Quality Assurance Governance Processes and providing general oversight of Quality Assurance Testers and User Acceptance Testing processes.

Engaging leadership when performance challenges arise and potentially contributing to team members' performance reviews.

Knowledge and Skills Required

• Proficient in Systems Development Life Cycle, agile methodologies, Quality Assurance, and Project Management practices, including waterfall and scrum methodologies.
• Comprehensive understanding of various testing concepts (e.g., functional, usability, performance).
• Strong interviewing skills to extract complete requirements from business partners, even from vague initial requests.
• Ability to comprehend and develop business process maps and use cases.
• Experience with industry-standard testing management tools and ALM tools.
• Test automation expertise.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
• Focused on maximizing operational efficiency.
• Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Capacity to anticipate user behavior or system risks.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Familiarity with the Retail Supermarket industry and an understanding of how supported applications or initiatives can influence success or failure.
• Experience with Workday HCM, Finance, or Payroll testing is advantageous.
• Strong time management, critical thinking skills, and adaptability.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least four years of experience in analyzing end-user requirements, documenting use cases, and developing test plans and test cases.
• A minimum of four years of experience in testing applications according to required functionality and non-functional quality attributes (e.g., availability, performance).
• Proficiency in test management tools and functional/load testing automation tools is a plus.
• Effectively manages personal time and workload, identifying strengths and weaknesses while seeking improvement through peer and management mentoring.
