Job Summary:The Concessions Stand Lead is responsible for overseeing the food and beverage service at various concessions stands, bars, and portable food and beverage locations. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure proper set-up of all concessions locations prior to doors, including verifying opening inventory, assigning duties to concession workers, and ensuring sanitation standards are met.
- Provide a high level of oversight and operational expertise, resulting in the smooth, efficient, and profitable execution of events.
- Train new and current employees on property procedures and best practices.
- Willing to cover or back-up any open position to ensure location is fully operational and company standards are met.
- Ensure work environment is safe and free from harassment or discrimination, and address any safety concerns or potential hazards immediately.
- Supervise the service of beverages to guests, including checking guest's ID to verify minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages.
- Assist in recording guest's orders and relaying them to the kitchen via POS system.
- Compute the cost of meals and present guests with checks, accepting payments and providing change as necessary.
- Recommend dishes and identify ingredients or explain how various items on the menu are prepared.
- Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
- Meet company standards for excellent attendance.
- Recognize guests who are visibly intoxicated and take action to cut off alcohol to such individuals.
- Enforce all company policies and procedures.
- Practice excellent Human Resources skills, including employee relations, corrective action, coaching, and counseling employees, and complete all necessary HR-related paperwork.
- Assist the management team with projects, including training, inventory, and special events.
- At least 1-2 years' experience working in a supervisory capacity in a food and beverage environment.
- Ability to supervise the work of others.
- Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
- Possess a valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit, if required by state or federal regulations.
- Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly.
- Ability to calculate basic math functions as they relate to POS cash/credit transactions, cash reconciliation, and product inventory.
