Community Supervision Specialist

Oversees the daily management of individuals on probation who require both intensive and standard supervision. Evaluates the criminogenic factors and therapeutic needs of the individuals under supervision. Implements evidence-based methodologies, utilizing effective communication skills and techniques to foster personal transformation within the probationers. Collaborates with probationers, district offices, and community resources to create and manage tailored rehabilitation plans.

Conducts home visits and community outreach as dictated by case requirements and supervision strategies; prepares comprehensive reports, including Pre-sentence Investigations and sentencing recommendations, ensuring timely submission; provides testimony and recommendations to the judicial system.

Essential Qualifications

Knowledge of social work practices and therapeutic interventions; understanding of personality types, human behavior, and socio-economic factors; proficiency in grammar, composition, report writing, and information collection; adeptness in presentation skills. Capable of counseling individuals and intervening during crises; assists probationers in setting and achieving personal goals; organizes, summarizes, and communicates information effectively both orally and in writing; manages time efficiently and prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines; gathers and documents information through interviews and written requests.

Maintains positive interactions with probationers, colleagues, supervisors, the public, and community resource personnel; executes and adheres to probationers' supervision plans and personal assignments; provides and receives guidance and instructions; processes, analyzes, and interprets both written and verbal information; initiates independent actions and completes assignments with minimal oversight.

Additional Considerations

A valid driver's license is required. Knowledge in fields such as Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, Sociology/Social Work, Criminology, and English, with possible minors in areas like Adult Education, Business Administration (particularly Personnel Management), and Public Safety is beneficial.
