Job Summary
This role is responsible for coordinating requests for EMS services, managing incoming and outgoing telephone and radio communications, and acting as a liaison between EMS and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinates requests for EMS services and ensures efficient management of incoming and outgoing communications
- Serves as a liaison between EMS and other stakeholders, including police departments, fire departments, and civilians
- Validates requestor information and associated documentation, and follows up on discrepancies in a timely manner
- Processes 9-1-1 requests for service, providing emergency medical call screening and pre-arrival instructions as needed
- Provides dispatch support to EMS department units and interacts with EMS crews
- Communicates effectively with requestors, including updates regarding scheduling, delays, and other relevant information
- Escalates concerns and conflicts to the chain of command promptly
Requirements
The successful candidate will have a strong background in emergency medical services, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and prior experience in a similar role is highly preferred.
Salary Range
$55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
