Physician (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) Specialist

As a Physician (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) with the Defense Health Agency Civilian Corps, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and rewarding environment that combines clinical expertise with a commitment to serving our nation's military personnel and their families.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Board Certified Physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, you will be responsible for the examination, diagnosis, and rehabilitation management of outpatients in the clinic. You will provide a full range of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation evaluations, treatments, and functional training to help patients achieve maximum independence.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing comprehensive pain management using trigger point and soft tissue injections, blocks, acupuncture, and rehabilitation exercise programs
- Performing and interpreting Electrophysiology studies, including Electromyography (EMG), Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV), and Somatosensory Evoked Potentials (SSEP)
- Prescribing and directing Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech, Neuropsychology evaluations, and social work services
- Ordering radiology and laboratory tests and making diagnoses and prescribing/directing appropriate rehabilitation treatment
To be eligible for this position, you must be a U.S. citizen and hold a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from a school in the United States or Canada approved by a recognized accrediting body. You must also be Board Certified or Eligible and have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
