Job Title: Project Manager II-III

Job Summary:

The National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager II-III to join our team. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing projects across the observatory, ensuring timely and successful completion of projects while maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage projects from initiation to closure, ensuring timely and successful completion.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Coordinate and manage project teams, stakeholders, and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with NRAO policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and report project progress, identifying and mitigating risks and issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables meet business needs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a physical science, electrical engineering, systems engineering, computer science, or software engineering, or significant comparable and relevant work experience.
  • At least three years of experience as a project manager actively leading technology and/or scientific software development projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with core project management responsibilities, including scheduling, risk management, project scheduling, reporting, acquisition, budgeting.
  • Knowledge, experience, and understanding in two or more of the following areas: radio telescopes, astronomy, software engineering and development, RF, radar, interferometry, microwave, or millimeter wave systems, high-speed digital electronics, electrical engineering.
