Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our Imaging department at Cook Hospital & Care Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing patients for radiologic procedures, operating radiologic equipment, and ensuring the safety and comfort of patients during scans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and ensure their safety and comfort during scans.
  • Operate radiologic equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
  • Position radiologic equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance according to examination specifications.
  • Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order and report any malfunctions to the Radiology Manager.
  • Perform related administrative duties, including scheduling patients, placing orders, and maintaining radiologic supplies.
  • Assess orders to ensure they meet the correct needs for prior authorization, exam performance, and billing.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to patient accounts, orders, exams, and prior imaging.
  • Perform EKG tests, DEXA scans, and CT scans independently and proficiently.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and compliance with facility-wide and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Exhibit flexibility in response to changing work situations and rotate through the call schedule as needed.
  • Actively participate in the Compliance Program, education/in-services, and competencies.
  • Maintain current licensure, registration, and certification.

Requirements:

  • Approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and BLS Certification current.
  • Graduate of an approved training institution.
  • Previous on-the-job experience preferred, but not required.
