Job Summary:

Giant Food Pharmacy is seeking a skilled Licensed Pharmacist to join our Clinical Pharmacy Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for establishing daily Pharmacy operations, processing prescriptions, and collaborating with our Clinical Program Team to coordinate health and wellness activities and community outreach programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish daily Pharmacy operations by working with Pharmacy support staff to efficiently process prescriptions in accordance with State and Federal Regulations
• Process prescriptions and data entry using the latest pharmacy systems that integrate clinical decision making, drug utilization review, and medication therapy management
• Collaborate with the Clinical Program Team to coordinate and execute off-site immunization clinics, health and wellness activities, and community outreach programs to promote Giant pharmacy offerings and services
• Accurately process prescriptions in accordance with contract guidelines to ensure proper adjudication of insurance claims, assist medical providers and patients with prior authorizations, and follow through on third-party audits
• Assist the Pharmacy Manager with ordering and maintaining the pharmaceutical inventory
• Promote customer engagement when providing counseling and over-the-counter (OTC) recommendations and offering Giant pharmacy services
• Adhere to Company policies and procedures
• Supervise Pharmacy support staff while on duty to include assigning roles and managing workflow to enhance the customer experience
• Provide support to the Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacy team, and Store manager by effectively communicating and assisting with pharmacy promotion programs and health and wellness offerings

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy and/or Doctor of Pharmacy
• Previous experience/background in retail pharmacy
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Must be able to travel to other stores
• Must have valid CPR license or basic life support certificate
• Must have immunization certifications in accordance with State regulations
• Strong inventory control understanding and capabilities
• Strong attention to detail
• Organizational skills
• Ability to multitask
• Strong proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations
• Comprehensive and demonstrated diversity equity & inclusion knowledge and understanding
• Ability to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform the job
• Must meet the company performance standards for the job
• Must participate in company orientation and training
