Job Title: Bilingual Clinician

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Bilingual Clinician to join our team at the National Youth Advocate Program. As a Clinician, you will play a critical role in providing culturally sensitive and trauma-informed care to children and youth who have experienced trauma and are in need of mental health services.

Job Summary:

The Bilingual Clinician will work with children and youth who are fleeing their country of origin and arrive in the U.S. without a parent or legal guardian. You will conduct mental health assessments, provide individual and group counseling services, and screen for trauma, human trafficking, and crisis intervention services. Additionally, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to maintain a therapeutic and emotionally healing environment and establish treatment goals and assist in the implementation of the individualized service plan.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct mental health assessments and provide individual and group counseling services to children and youth
  • Screen for trauma, human trafficking, and crisis intervention services
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to maintain a therapeutic and emotionally healing environment
  • Establish treatment goals and assist in the implementation of the individualized service plan
  • Provide crisis intervention services as needed
  • Collaborate with other staff and stakeholders to utilize a child welfare best practice approach for the care of minors within a trauma-informed framework
  • Participate in treatment team activities for complex cases
  • Work with program administration, case managers, medical and educational staff to identify best ongoing case management practices
  • Ensure children in care are provided mental health referrals, OTIP, and other agency referrals and clinical services pursuant to ORR Policy
  • Attend and provide clinician-related trainings, including SAFE, TBRI, and sexual abuse, sexual harassment, and inappropriate sexual behavior prevention
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in social work with clinical experience in the program
  • Must be licensed based on State requirements
  • Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, automotive insurance, and a good driving record
  • A willingness to work flexible and non-traditional hours with a possibility of being on call on nights/weekends
  • Capacity to be flexible and responsive to youth served, foster caregivers, system partners, and internal customers
  • Capacity to remain objective and professional in all areas of job function
  • Demonstrates tolerance and respect for the ideas and actions of others
  • Bilingual English/Spanish fluency
